Team 8 – Go Greyhound!

October 23rd would have been a normal school day for Christian Medina, Timothy, and Peter Green. But a car accident on the way to school ended Christian’s young life and reminded the entire community that none of us is promised tomorrow. A great kid and passionate baseball player as a member of the LPA Greyhounds, Christian Medina was remembered as polite, funny, kind, and caring. Even in death he was giving, as many of his organs were donated to help others live. Also injured in the crash, twins Timothy and Peter Green continue their recovery, and while everyone whose lives were touched by this tragedy, the families are also struggling financially, without proper insurance coverage, and, as always, the community is coming together to show its love and support.

On Wednesday, December 4th, the Van Duzer Foundation will be hosting an evening of celebration for the young trio and their families at Big Apple Pizza, 2311 South 35th Street in Fort Pierce, Florida.  There will be food, fun, music by Traxx Entertainment, bounce houses from Chuck & Lori’s Entertainment, and as always with a Van Duzer Foundation event, 100 percent of all the evening’s sales, including staff salaries and tips, will benefit the families of Christian Medina, Tim and Peter Green. Also on hand for the evening’s festivities will be One Blood (formerly Florida’s Blood Centers), accepting donations of blood to help others who are struggling with illness and tragedy. Each and every blood donation can save up to three lives, so volunteering is the highest form of volunteering, and it doesn’t cost a cent.

For the past five years, the Van Duzer Foundation has found unique ways for everyone to positively impact the community and has raised and donated nearly $800,000 to St. Lucie County residents in need.
